The TOTAL Green School Awards are split into five regions (Central, North,
South, Wales and Scotland) and there will be a winner for each award
category in each region. Each category winner will receive a cheque for
£500 to go towards the school funds.
The best winning group from each region will then be chosen to progress to the national final and invited to attend a special National Awards Ceremony in June 2009. All expenses for travel etc. will be paid. Each group nominated as a national finalist i.e. overall winner in their region, will receive a further £500 (making a total of £1,000) for their school funds.
The UK Champions of the TOTAL Green School Awards will in addition go on an action packed, all-expenses-paid four night residential Environmental Discovery Course, organised for them by the Young People's Trust for the Environment, to take place at a date of their choice.*
